Keep each site’s identity
Different brands can have their own design, content and service information. Each site has room for the information you need to publish for that business or club. Sharing an admin does not require them to look alike.
Multi-site websites
Run websites for different businesses, brands or clubs from one central admin. Each site keeps its own identity, content and enquiries. Give staff access to the sites they look after, with head editors able to manage the whole group.
Several websites to look after
Your businesses may serve different customers, offer different services and need very different websites. The people looking after them can still use the same system.
RealMosaic, our managed CMS platform, lets a business or association manage several independent sites from one admin. An editor can look after one site or several. Head editors can work across the group from the same central login.
Each website remains separate, with its own content, design and forms. A central team can help where needed while individual businesses or clubs manage the sites they are responsible for.
Choosing the right structure
A distinct brand, audience or service can be a good reason for a separate website. It gives that part of the organisation room to explain its work in its own way.
One website with useful location pages may meet your needs with less content and administration to look after. We work through the brands, content and editing responsibilities before recommending the structure.
For a group of independent sites, the benefit is central administration with room for each site to be different. A common design is available where it helps; it is not a requirement.
How the management works
01
Different brands can have their own design, content and service information. Each site has room for the information you need to publish for that business or club. Sharing an admin does not require them to look alike.
02
Assign people to the sites they manage, then use roles to control access to content, forms, design tools and other CMS areas. Change a role’s permissions at master-admin level and the users assigned to it receive the updated access.
03
Forms and their replies belong to each site. Editors see replies for the sites they are authorised to manage, while head editors can be given access across the group. One business’s form replies stay separate from another’s.
04
Pages, articles and forms are just some of the tools built into RealMosaic. Content, design and day-to-day site management sit within the same system. These built-in functions do not need extra third-party connectors for each site.
Where this approach can fit
01
An NDIS operation or another service organisation may run two or more businesses with different names, services and audiences. Each can have its own website, with the organisation managing staff access and helping with content centrally.
02
An association may want to help its clubs manage their websites while each club keeps its own identity and information. Club editors can be assigned their own site, with authorised association editors able to assist across the group.
03
A business may have smaller operations, specialist services or separate brands that need their own websites. The central team can manage those sites together and give individual staff access to the parts they look after.
Getting started and keeping things current
We start with your existing sites, who maintains them and what each business or club needs. Moving them into RealMosaic can be planned in stages around their content, domains and connected systems.
The CMS is designed for staff to handle everyday editing with minimal training. We can step in with advice, editing, new content and more involved work such as themes. We use the same editing system as your staff, so work can be shared between your team and ours.
Where a new site can reuse an existing structure, we can copy content and themes to give it a starting point. A distinct brand may need its own design and more customisation. We work through that scope for each site.
Common questions
No. Each site can have its own design, content and purpose. Multi-site management gives your organisation one place to administer them. Shared branding is useful for a franchise; independent brands and clubs can keep their own identities.
Yes. You can give an editor access to one or more sites and set their role to cover the areas they need to manage. Head editors can manage the whole group, and changing a role updates the permissions of its assigned users.
Each site’s content is separate. Editing a page on one site does not publish that change across the other sites. Reusing a theme is a separate process: where a theme is generic enough to share, its updated copy can be assigned to each site in turn.
We can scope a staged move. Sites use the central RealMosaic admin once they are running in the system. We review the existing platforms, domains, content and integrations to work out what can move and in what order.
Next step
Send us the sites, the businesses or clubs they belong to, and who looks after them. Tell us where managing them gets awkward. We can work through the structure, editor access and support that would help your team.
