A few share buttons shouldn’t need a bloated script to do a very simple job. SocialShare’s minified JavaScript and CSS come to just 12.2 kB combined. No frameworks, no icon library and no extra dependencies. Choose your buttons below and make them fit your site.
Add them to your website.
Your choices are in the code. Copy the whole block.

Already using SocialShare, or prefer separate files?
If your page already loads SocialShare 1.1.1, use this smaller block. It includes your buttons and settings. To set up the files yourself, download the CSS, the JavaScript and the licence, then follow the setup instructions ↗.
A few useful details.
How small is it?
7.3 kB of JavaScript and 4.9 kB of CSS. That’s 12.2 kB combined for the minified files, before web-server compression. Your copied block also includes your settings.
It runs on plain JavaScript and CSS. You don’t need React, jQuery or another framework to use it, and it can sit alongside the tools your site already uses.
Will it work on my website?
If your site lets you add HTML, CSS and JavaScript, yes. Look for an HTML, Code or Embed block in your editor. A normal text block will usually just display the code on the page.
Some website builders remove scripts or need them added in a separate custom-code area. If nothing appears when you preview or publish, check what your editor allows. You can pass this page on to whoever looks after your site.
Which buttons do I actually need?
Three or four that your visitors use will usually do the job. Copy link is handy for anyone who wants to paste the address into their own app.
These buttons let people share your page. If you want links to your social profiles, those go elsewhere on your site. There isn’t a separate Instagram button in SocialShare; device sharing may offer apps installed on the visitor’s phone.
What happens when someone clicks?
It opens the chosen service with the link ready to share. The visitor still decides whether to post it. Email and text messages open a suitable app. Print opens the browser’s print dialog, which may also offer Save as PDF.
Loading the buttons sends no sharing requests. SocialShare adds no analytics, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Once someone opens a sharing service, that service’s privacy terms apply.
Can I use it on client or business websites?
Yes. Personal projects, business websites and client work. It’s free to use and change under the MIT licence. Leave the copyright and licence notices in the code; the builder includes them for you.
The code runs on your own site without needing to contact us. If you want to get into the source or adapt an existing setup, it’s all in the SocialShare repository ↗.
