Make the site useful on a phone
Navigation, text, images and forms need to work together on smaller screens. We consider the mobile experience as part of the design and build.
Work directly with Stephen Neate on a new business website or redesign. We agree what you need for launch, then give you a CMS website you can keep developing.
What do you do? Who is the service for? Where do you work? What does a customer need to know before making an enquiry?
Subtle Difference is based on the Sunshine Coast. We plan business websites around those practical questions, bringing your services, photography and examples of your work into a clear page structure.
Bring your current site, a rough brief or material that needs organising. We can help develop the copy, agree the launch essentials and leave room for later additions through the CMS.

Navigation, text, images and forms need to work together on smaller screens. We consider the mobile experience as part of the design and build.
02
We plan what your forms need to ask and where the responses go. The aim is to give customers a straightforward way to contact you and your team useful information to respond.
03
Technical SEO and performance are part of how we approach development. If the existing site needs a more detailed technical review, we can discuss that scope alongside the website work.
A refresh of Sue’s long-running Noosa salon website, built around her specialist waxing services and personal approach.
The project brought the service information, price guide and appointment-request path into an updated design. Requests start a conversation with Sue, with availability and details confirmed personally.

The business already had a strong collection of project photography. Its redesign combined that material with new copy and a clearer structure for earthworks, recycling, plant hire and related services.
It is an example of using the knowledge and material already inside a business to explain more of what it does.
Read the project storyBefore quoting, we review the existing site’s total content and URL structure to assess its size. An initial competitor and industry review helps inform the brief we provide with your quote.
That gives the project a starting scope. The review becomes more detailed as we plan the site, compare content and work through the design with you.
01
We expand the initial site, competitor and industry reviews, comparing the findings with your existing content. This helps identify what to retain, improve or add to the new site.
02
We recommend a new sitemap and map existing URLs to the proposed structure, with redirects planned where addresses change. Access to the old site, domain and hosting affects what can be migrated or connected.
03
You approve the new design or enhancements to the existing design, directly or after revisions. We explain our recommendations and challenge ideas that may work against the site’s goals. The final direction is yours.
04
Assets, copywriting and any data imports are discussed in the brief and implemented after design approval. You provide or confirm the business facts and material agreed in the brief. We work through further content enhancements and design tweaks as the project develops.
Launch is the priority throughout the project. We keep discussions focused on what needs to be ready, so you can start using your new website and branding in your marketing while further content is developed.
01
From the brief onward, we focus on the pages, content and functions needed for launch. Extra content and enhancements can follow after launch by agreement. Once the site meets the launch requirements, refining every future page does not need to delay getting your services in front of your audience.
02
We check responsive layouts, forms and redirects, and confirm that agreed items are live or explicitly held over. Our pre-launch standard is green Lighthouse results for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO on mobile and desktop. Any advanced SEO included in the brief is completed before launch.
03
Every website we build uses one of our CMS programs. You can add pages and extend the content yourself or with our support. Hosting, training and ongoing support are agreed as part of your arrangement.
“Stephen is an absolute saint! He has been fine tuning the Savvy Business and Queensland Business Sales websites, driving our online presence and SEO for many years.”
No. We are based on the Sunshine Coast and work with clients across Australia and New Zealand. Read more about Subtle Difference.
No. Bring what you have. The brief sets out copywriting, assets and any data imports, with implementation after design approval. We agree the content needed for launch; further pages and enhancements can follow through the CMS once the site is live.
That depends on the pages, content, functionality and any migration or integrations involved. Send your current site, the changes you need and any deadline that matters so we can discuss scope and timing.
Listings, multiple websites or a custom application can need a different scope. Our website design and development overview links to those specialist services. Tell us what needs to work together when you enquire.
Send your current website if you have one, a short description of the business and what you want to improve. Include any content, connections or timing we should discuss.
